Provider

Anecdotally, RNs and LPNs working in the nursing teams are satisfied with their new roles.  RNs feel that they are able to ensure that their patients get the care the need.  LPNs express a high degree of satisfaction working in an acute care setting, rather than only in long-term care settings.

Anecdotally, physicians are quite satisfied with the team-nursing model.  Some feel that it increases patient safety as you have multiple individuals responsible for each patient.  In addition, it is easier for physicians to receive updates about their patients.

Patient

BEMC has the highest Press Ganey patient satisfaction scores for Banner Health in the Arizona region.  94 percent of patients are satisfied overall.  76 percent of patients felt that nurses kept them informed, as well as felt they received attention to their personal needs.  Anecdotally, patients provide positive feedback on the team nursing and like having several staff members caring for them.
