The Values Driven System has achieved utilization reductions in acute and specialty care. Specific reductions include:
- 50 percent decrease in urgent care and ED utilization
- 53 percent decrease in hospital admissions. Current admission patterns hover around 4 admissions per 1,000 patients (excluding newborns and mothers delivering) in the Anchorage area.
- 65 percent decrease in specialist utilization
The Values Driven System has achieved important improvements in patient quality and preventive care. Specific results include:
- C-section rate of 11.5 percent
- Childhood immunization rate of 93 percent, up from 80 percent when model began
- Diabetes with 50% of HbA1c below 7 percent

Implementing the Values Driven System has resulted in improved staff satisfaction.
- Employee turnover rate less than 12 percent
- Employee satisfaction of 93%.
In 2007, the Southcentral Foundation received an overall customer satisfaction score of 91 percent. Since beginning the Values Driven system, SCF has seen continued improvements in satisfaction with the following dimensions of care: access, continuity and transition, emotional support, information and education, and respect for patient preferences.
